Gelato is a hybrid strain that leans slightly more to indica with 56% indica and 44% sativa genetics, known for its scrumptious flavours and magnificent terpenes, following in the footsteps of its parents, Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint GSC.
Gelato spews pungent fruity, dessert aromas with hints of blueberry and orange. Praised for its immense THC content packing a punch of between 20-26%.
Despite the fact that Gelato is Indica dominant users report mental clarity as well as a strong feeling of physical relaxation, users are still able to maintain productivity and creativity levels which is very rare with strains that carry more of the typical sedative indica genes, this strain’s positive effects include filling the user with happiness, creativity, relaxation and euphoria. Perfect for creative ventures, social gatherings, and for when you need to focus and be productive. Gelato’s multi-faceted high has made it a fan favourite.
Gelato is a strain with immense visual appeal covered in bright and fiery orange pistils which stand out against dark green fan leaves with glistens of purple hues, due to high concentrations of pigments called anthocyanins.
Anthocyanins are stimulated by cold weather, just before the flowering period growers should expose the plants to a cooler temperature that is still humid in order to stimulate anthocyanin pigments, which can improve the quality and yield of the buds.
Gelato only grows a short to medium height, thanks to the indica influence making it an ideal plant for indoor growers with limited amounts of space. Gelato requires warmer temperatures and humid conditions to flourish especially during vegetation.
This strain’s strong odour makes itself known; specifically during flower! Indoor growers may require odour control measures such as carbon air filters or exhaust fans.
The buds themselves are short stalks and tend to be small but they have a thick and dense structure characteristic of many indica varieties, and although Gelato has a high THC content and is very sticky to the touch, its sugar leaves are not immensely frosty.
The Flowering period arrives around 8-9 weeks and the specific yield can vary but expect it to be above average as the Thin Mint and Sunset Sherbet parents are known to produce higher than average yields.
